Whiskey: Bardstown Bourbon Company PHIFER PAVITT RESERVE
Bardstown Bourbon Company has teamed up with the California winery Phifer Pavitt to release a truly marvelous example of what a well-structured wine barrel finish can do for a bourbon. Shortly after Bardstown Bourbon Company fired up its first still, they took some Pavitt Cabernet Sauvignon casks, used to age that wine for three years, and gave a 9 year old Tennessee (rumored George Dickel) bourbon 19 months of secondary maturation.
