Liqueur: Herbsaint
This greenish-gold colored, anise-flavored liqueur dates back to late nineteenth and early twentieth century New Orleans. Its striking licorice and herbal notes work as a base in cocktails, and just a few dashes to a libation can render multi-layered complexity. The San Francisco World Spirits Competition awarded it a Silver medal in 2013.
